Nancy Simons

Nancy Joan Simons , later known by her married name Nancy Peterson, is an American former competition swimmer and Olympic medalist. She represented the United States as an eighteenyearold at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, where she won a silver medal as a member of the secondplace U.S. team in the womens 4100meter freestyle relay with Sylvia Ruuska, Shelley Mann and Joan Rosazza. She also competed individually in the womens 100meter freestyle, but did not advance beyond the event semifinals.
